Amazing location! Right at the mouth of the Connecticut River - easy upriver trips as well as easy access to Long Island Sound. Our dockspace is perfect for loading up while our dinghy and watersports dock is perfect for launching.

Launch service is provided by licensed drivers to North Cove and the moorings just outside the Cove. Launch service is provided weekends in early and late season and typically every day in high season. When our launch is not running, a fleet of small runabouts is available for use.

Socially, we hold many Club functions as well as working together on Club service days. NCYC is a volunteer yacht club, meaning everyone chips in a bit. Members help get the club ready in the beginning of the season as well as support the many events throughout the season. If that does not appeal to you, a donation towards ‘hours’ can be made.

Membership

Thank you for your interest in our club. North Cove Yacht Club (NCYC) membership has many wonderful benefits. It will allow you to interact with the shoreline boating community, enjoy all aspects of yachting, whether you own a boat or not, meet fellow boating enthusiasts, and make new friends.

All members enjoy the following:  

  • Access to the clubs fleet of boats (420s, Dyers, Optimists, paddleboards, kayaks).

  • Launch service to boats in North Cove.

  • Full use of the clubhouse including grills, kitchen, shower, porch rockers.

  • Free use of dingy/kayak/paddleboard racks and under-the-club storage for a small fee.

  • Numerous social events throughout the spring and summer (and sporadically in the fall and winter) including Friday night socials and weekly grill nights.

  • 20% discount for immediate family members who participate in the Junior Sailing Program

  • Ability to crew on larger sailboats during the Thurs. night racing series and during club sponsored regattas

Club Amenities

North Cove Yacht Club (NCYC) offers many resources to our members.  Here are a few of our favorites:

  • Club Waterfront

    • NCYC has an amazing waterfront location, just minutes from Long Island Sound or pursuits up the Connecticut River.

    • Our waterfront features floating docks with:

      • 4 service slips

      • watersports dock

      • dingy dock with launching platform

      • 7' depth at low tide

  • Clubhouse

    • North Cove Yacht Club maintains a marvelous Club House for social functions complete with a full kitchen, restrooms, and showers

    • Outside deck complete with picnic table with umbrellas, retractable awning, rocking chairs, inside bar, TV, and tables for well over 150 guests

    • Club members (and only Club members) have the privilege to rent the Clubhouse for private events. (fees may apply depending on the number of guests)

    • Ice is available for purchase

    • Free WiFi

  • Club Moorings

    • We have moorings in:

      • Hamburg Cove

      • Block Island, Great Salt Pond

      • Guest mooring in North Cove

    • Moorings are exclusively available for member use

  • Club Launch

    • Operated by licensed Club Stewards, the Club Launch services North Cove and the adjacent mooring field just outside North Cove. Available from mid-May until mid-October and monitors VHF channel 78

  • Club Whaler fleet

    • The club offers several Whalers to serve as utility boats, temporary launch boats or runabouts. These boats feature small outboards and are perfect for quick trips out to your boat

  • Small Sailboats

    • The Club maintains a healthy collection of 420s, Opti, and Dyers for member use. Our summer Junior Sailing program instructs youth on the use of our small fleet and private adult lessons are also offered

    • The Club's sloped ramp dock makes launching super-easy

  • Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPs) and Kayak

    • Perfect for exploring the cove, NCYC offers several paddleboards and a kayak for member use, and a sloped ramp dock for launching

    • Storage of personal SUP or Kayak is dependent on space in our dinghy racks

  • Dinghy storage

    • The club offers dockside dinghy racks for storage

    • Covered storage is also available

  • Mooring storage

    • In the offseason, Club Members can store their mooring on club property saving a hard or costly haul to another location

  • Discounts

    • NCYC Members get discounted entry fees to events and our Junior Sailing Program.

  • Initiation Fee: $1500 (plus tax $150).

  • Ongoing yearly fee: $1102 (tax included)
